Dear Angela and Vic
Arrived home Saturday so now catching up with all the post-holiday tasks! We very much enjoyed our time in Brac - especially the walking.
It made a big difference to have you giving us all the local information and taking us to places we'd otherwise not know about- thank you. And the group were lovely, making us feel so welcome.
We were delighted to be able to have a coffee stop at the villa - and would certainly recommend it to other guests, especially if there were 4 or even 6 of them (we later discovered a blow-up double bed as well!) which would make it cheaper per head.

I would like to say how very much we enjoyed our walks with Walking Buddies and the information you gave, it makes one feel so much more connected to the country you are walking in. Both walks were completely different and it was such a shame that we didn't have time for more which I am sure would have been different again. I would also like to say that it was so enjoyable walking with like minded people who adapted their walking to the people they were with and their ability.
See you next year.

To Angela and Vic.
Many thanks for your help this week. The walks have been very carefully thought out and always included points of interest. We particularly enjoyed the chance to visit the castles and chat to the owners, plus the Sculptor was a bonus.
We appreciated the time and effort you have put in. A Wonderful introduction to Croatian life and you have both been great company.
Many Thanks from.

Hi just a note to say thank you for a lovely morning walk today (and an excellent lunch recommendation!). Hope to catch up with you again one day.
All the best

Vic and Angela were kind enough to lead us a couple of walks on Brac and
we really enjoyed the walks as well as their company. It was lovely to
explore the tracks and trails, meet a few of the local people, and see
and hear about some of the local history which we would otherwise have
missed. Many thanks for your time and company!

Had a really pleasant walk with Angela and Vic on 1st June 2015. They kindly picked us up from Postira, and we drove to Skrip, then walked down to Splitska and finished up in Dol at Toni's Konoba a really good walk on a baking hot day. Their indepth knowledge of Brac and general good company really added value to our holiday experience and we're so glad we met up. If you are visiting the island and like to walk, don't miss out arrange a day with walking buddies and gain an extra insight into the culture and landscape of this intriguing and beautiful island.

We first met Angela and Vic at one of the Chester Globetrotter meetings. I heard that they had a place on the island of Brac in Croatia and ran a unique travel company called Footsteps in Croatia offering organised walks plus a range of accommodation according to preference. Whilst I can only walk a limited distance my friend enjoys more challenging walks but between them Angela and Vic can meet both needs. In September this year myself and 2 friends met in Split and took the short ferry ride to the island of Brac where Angela and Vic met us. We were instantly delighted with our accommodation, the first floor of a simple Croatian house with a balcony overlooking the harbour of Sutivan. Downstairs was one of 3 konoba's (restaurants) where we could eat and listen to the nightly laughter and singing. Brac dwellings are mostly made from stone for which it is famous so everywhere you see attractive stone dwellings, cobbled streets and alleyways making every walk a delight.
Angela and Vic left us to settle in with the promise of a local walk the next day. The delight of the tour company is that Angela and Vic are offering tourists a holiday without the trapings of mass tourisim! We walked where there were no tourists and saw the island as only a local would know it. The village is within easy reach of wonderful views and while the church bells chimed we walked through forests, climbed hills and were shown the best beaches near to our new home for the week. Keen walkers themselves Angela and Vic took us on walks combining stunning scenic routes with seeing hilltop villages reminiscent of Tuscan villages. We also visited a vineyard owned by a local family whose daughter-in-law gave us a personal tour showing us all they had invested in as well as giving us a taste of their awarding winning wines
We also branched out ourselves and went by bus to Pucisca to visit the apprentice stone mason school. Brac is famous for its white limestone, used for Diocletian's palace in Split and the White House in Washington.
It is easy to travel around Brac by bus if you want a leisurely ride and also to cycle around flat coastal routes. For our first visit we were not tempted off the island to other nearby islands as there was plenty to do.
Croatia is a beautiful country, with stunning beaches and crystal clear water. The food is authentic "slow" cooking, before the term was invented, good produce, specialising in lamb and seafood , well cooked over barbecues.
I look forward to returning to Croatia and would recommend anyone, but not too many, to try Croatia if you have not already done so try it too.
You could not do better than try Footsteps in Croatia where you will receive a tailor made holiday to your needs if walking quiet routes in glorious sunshine is for you. Above all you will receive kindness and care. What more could you wish for?
